My kids have been taking turns as only children this summer. Olivia was invited to the Keys by the Black family and came back tan and happy. She was able to tube, jet ski, snuba dive and play in the water. I think her favorite part was where she and two other 14 year olds would get on the jet ski and take it wherever they wanted, she loved when Colton (the driver) would jump waves and spin the machine around. Olivia is so lucky to have great friends that take her on vacations with them.

Simon is currently in North Carolina with Julia and her family. They are staying in a cabin and are making day trips all over the state. Yesterday they went to a place where you could jump off waterfalls and slide down rocks, Simon said it was incredible and even took a video of himself doing it. He’s enjoying his vacation with Julia, the two of them are inseparable and I don’t think either of them could have handled her being gone for a week.

Tommy is working for the local newspaper in Columbia this summer, he is writing for the sports page. This is a new type of writing for him, but he is doing a fantastic job and even scored the front page of the sports section on Sunday!!!! He moves into his fall apartment next week, he will be going from living with 8 guys to just one other roommate. I think he’s looking forward to the peace and quiet that only 2 guys can make. He’s also working two telemarketing jobs this summer, one is collecting debts and the other is asking for $ for the alumni association. He’s been so busy all summer, but usually calls me daily on his walk home between jobs.
