Spring Break 2011

Olivia and I just got back from our spring break trip, we had an amazing time. We invited Olivia’s best friend, mom and little sister. I love how seamless our families meld together, Olivia and McKenzie are like sisters, only no fighting. We hung at the pool, played Bocce Ball in the sand, met new [...]

43’s not that old

I had an amazing birthday this year. I was spoiled rotten by my husband, he got me an ipad2. (i’m so in love with it) My boys both called me and Olivia bought me a mortar and pestle for my kitchen and made me an amazing card. I heard from all of my family members/parents/siblings [...]

There are worse things to do than drive up and down the coast all day

Tom and I spent the day yesterday driving up and down the coast looking at beach condos. We found some we really like, but aren’t sure we are ready for the commitment yet. I’ve always dreamed of having a vacation home on the beach, so we will keep looking until the perfect one falls into [...]

How do you get a cold at the beach?

Spring break is over and school starts back up today. BOO. I woke up yesterday with what I thought were intense allergies, wrong, it is a cold! I sniffled my way through the beach and the Winter Park arts festival yesterday. I went be early last night hoping I would wake up today feeling better, [...]

Somehow being tan makes all the problems go away

Spring Break week has been awesome. I can definitely tell that I’m a 41 year old college breaker compared to a 21 year old. My days have been spent at the beach, but I’m by myself reading books and working on my tan. The younger ones are running around the beach showing off their bodies [...]

The birthday weekend wrap up

I learned a few new things this weekend. I don’t ever want to be single, I don’t ever want to need to go to a bar to find “the one”. My friends and I went out Saturday night to celebrate my birthday, we went to dinner and afterwards went to another restaurant that had a [...]

Down and out on spring break

I finished the first half of spring semester yesterday and am now on spring break, to celebrate I went to a movie yesterday, “He’s just not that into you”. Cute movie.
I threw my back out last night crouching down to look into my fish tank. I am in a tremendous amount of pain and had [...]

Simon has the worst kind of luck

I went to the grocery store this afternoon for the first time since going back on gluten. It felt strange and somehow wrong purchasing food that for the past 16 months has been forbidden. I purchased some breakfast biscuits and orange rolls. I can’t tell you what it feels like to eat real bread again…pure [...]

What do you do when your kid is sick?

Simon has not been feeling well for quite awhile. We thought that giving up Gluten was the key, but apparently not. I took him to the Dr. last week after a month of severe stomach aches, fatigue, weight loss and more. The doctor thought that it might be allergies and prescribes Nasanex….I kid you not. [...]

Another day in paradise

Here’s a new one for you. Today is senior skip day and Tommy headed to the beach. He texted me earlier saying that a kid he knew “got bit” (shark) and is now headed to the hospital. Another normal day in Florida.
