This week has been very interesting, it started with my dear grandmother’s funeral and ended with me spending the day at the Veterans hospital yesterday. Grandma’s funeral was very nice, but it did raise many fears and concerns about my parents and what I’ll do when their time comes. I know you can’t worry about everything, but it seems like people’s emotions are on overdrive and everyone wants their say. I think we should all plan out our funerals and be done with it. I was able to catch up with so many of my cousins and aunts and uncles and that was wonderful. Since I got married 21 years ago I’ve been out of the loop for so long, what with moving around the country and kind of being the black sheep of the family, I haven’t seen people. I was able to catch up with everyone I wanted to and it was perfect. My dad’s 9 remaining siblings were all there and they took some nice family photos.
Isis started the 3rd grade and I was lucky enough to be able to walk her to the bus stop her first day, this Saturday is her first soccer game of the season and you all know I’ll be on the sidelines screaming!
Yesterday my birthmother Cathie and my grandpa from Idaho came down and we went to the VA hospital. Grandpa has been having severe back pains and needs surgery, so they did test on him and found a clot in his chest. They were so worried about it busting that they had him come into the hospital asap for additional test. Come to find out they measured the clot wrong and it would do more damge to do surgery to remove it then to let it sit, so now they head back to Idaho and continue making appts for his back surgery.
My dad meets with his back doctor on Friday and hopefully surgery will be scheduled quickly, he’s in a lot of pain and it needs to stop.
The boys are both enjoying college and Simon is fitting right in at UF. He loves his classes and thinks that the unlimited dining plan is divine intervention straight from God. Tommy is busy with 5 classes and 2 jobs.
Olivia and Tom are doing well at home without me. I miss them both like crazy but am grateful for their selfless act in letting me come visit.
