A fun filled New Years Day!
We’ve had an interesting couple of days. First Tiki got very sick and ended up at the emergency vets where she was diagnosed with pancreatitis, a very dangerous condition. After three days staying there she is now comfortably resting at home. Tom’s cousin just returned from his second tour of Afghanistan and has been down in Florida with his fiance. Of course us being us we had them over last night for a cookout. Tom smoked a TON of chicken in his smoker and I pulled together leftovers and a few new additions and we had a party. My parents drove over from where they are staying at the beach and Tom’s parents drove down, plus Tom’s cousins so it was a regular party. I think the highlight for Kassem was being able to drive Tom’s convertible, he and Tommy took it for a spin. We took a ton of pictures and had an amazing night. We are so proud of our American Hero Kassem.
Today we took down the second Christmas tree, my sister took the first one down yesterday. All of the Christmas crap is now sitting on the dining room table, it may sit there for a day or two. I am planning on catching up on a little reading this afternoon.
